You can even find "R54" soprano and baritone horns. If you search for Selmer on any online sales portal you will get back page after page of "R54" in every possible color and configuration you can imagine. Probably the most common Chinese "Selmer" fake is a the Reference 54. I have been commenting a lot here on the counterfeit/clone/copy market here in China, so I have decided to satisfy my curiosity and do a little research. Just as I wouldn't feel so guilty about buying an Antigua Winds, Jupiter, or RS Berkeley horn - all of which might draw the ire of pros that fully expect every other pro to be playing a major brand elite horn like Selmer, Yamaha, Yanagisawa, Keilwerth, or King Super 20. So if they're branded as Ammon, Muslady, or Cecilio or come unbranded? I probably wouldn't feel guilty about getting one. The biggest issue is if they are labeled as a brand name that they simply are not. For this reason I don't really consider there to be an IP infringement. They certainly could but that is not what the Chinese industrial model is all about. The unique concept of saxophone has forged a fine saxophone with a mellow, vigorous and powerful sound."
